MJ'S DETAILS
The buttonhole flower or "boutonniere" originated in the 15th century as a distinguishing mark of two rival English noble houses. In the time of the French Revolution, nobles wore a buttonhole flower on their way to the scaffold to show their intrepidity, and Oxford students wore them on the occasion of formal examinations.
Since the beginning of the 19th century, the "boutonniere" has served the so-called dandies as an expression of their idleness. Use the buttonhole flower as a sign of your personal style and you will make a great statement of good taste.>
